This is a genuine Ford bolt used to secure the engine valve cover, also called the camshaft cover, on the 3.3L and 3.5L V6 engines, including the 3.5L EcoBoost and 3.5L Ti-VCT, fitted to the 2011-2019 F-150, 2015-2019 Expedition, 2017-2019 Ford GT, 2011-2014 Lincoln Mark LT, and 2015-2019 Lincoln Navigator. The bolt threads through the valve cover into the cylinder head, drawing the cover and its gasket down evenly so the sealing surface holds oil inside the top of the engine. Each bolt seats one point of the cover, and correct, evenly distributed clamp load is what prevents leaks. Buyers need this fastener when servicing the valve cover, spark plugs, coils, or cam cover gasket, or when an original bolt is stripped, corroded, or lost during a repair. Symptoms that lead here include oil weeping from the valve cover seam, oil pooling in the spark-plug wells, a burning-oil smell at the exhaust, or a bolt that will no longer hold torque. Install with the Ford-specified torque and tightening sequence so the cover seats flat and the gasket seals. Using the correct genuine Ford bolt protects the cover and gasket from distortion and oil leaks.
