• Description:

  This genuine Ford water manifold gasket, base number 8C387, seals the coolant crossover and thermostat housing joint on the 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 used in Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks. The gasket seals the driver-side coolant manifold connection so engine coolant flows through the crossover and lower thermostat housing without escaping at the joint. Because it lives in the high-temperature cooling circuit of the diesel, a hardened, crushed or leaking gasket allows coolant seepage, low coolant level, and the overheating or steam that follows. Owners and technicians need this part when they find a coolant leak or weep at the water manifold, are correcting a low-coolant or overheat condition, or are reassembling the cooling system after engine or turbo service that required removing the manifold. It is installed whenever the water manifold or thermostat housing is unbolted from the engine. Manufactured to Ford specifications, it restores the original sealing surface and resists the coolant, heat and pressure of the 6.7L diesel cooling system. Replace the gasket any time the manifold is separated, inspect the sealing flanges for warpage or residue, and torque the fasteners in the correct sequence.
