This Genuine Ford Motorcraft fuel injection pressure regulator, Motorcraft part number CM-5185, controls high-pressure fuel in the common-rail system of 2011-2019 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel; it crosses to Ford part number BC3Z-9C968-A. Mounted on the high-pressure fuel pump or rail, the regulator modulates rail pressure by bleeding off excess fuel so the powertrain control module can maintain precise injection pressure across all load and speed conditions. A failing regulator causes hard starting, extended cranking, low-power or limp-mode operation, rough running, stalling, and rail-pressure trouble codes with an illuminated check engine light, and it can trigger fuel-pressure deviation faults. Installing the correct OEM regulator restores stable rail pressure and proper diesel injection control.
