  This is the genuine Ford piston ring set for the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel V8 found in 2011 through 2019 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks, superseding the earlier BC3Z-6148-A service number. The set furnishes the complete ring pack for a single piston, including the top compression ring, the second compression ring, and the oil control ring, machined and coated to Ford specification for the cylinder bore finish and combustion pressures of the Power Stroke. The rings seal the combustion chamber, transfer heat from the piston crown to the cylinder wall, and control the oil film on the bore. Worn or broken rings show up as elevated blow-by, blue oil smoke, high oil consumption, reduced compression and power, and hard starting, and they are commonly renewed during a rebuild or overhaul or after cylinder damage. Because ring-to-groove and end-gap clearances are critical on a diesel, the bore should be measured and honed and the end gaps checked and filed to specification during assembly. Each set seals one piston, so match your order to the cylinders being serviced. Motorcraft assembly lubricant is recommended, and the exact ring package for your engine build should be confirmed by VIN before ordering.
