  This genuine Ford connecting rod bearing is the lower bearing half that seats in the big-end of the connecting rod, riding on the crankshaft rod journal to carry combustion loads while maintaining a precise oil film between the rotating crank and the reciprocating rod. It fits the small four-cylinder engine family used in the 2011-2019 Ford Fiesta 1.6L, 2013-2016 Ford Escape 1.6L EcoBoost, 2013-2020 Ford Fusion 1.5L and 1.6L, and 2018-2019 Ford Transit Connect. Ford lists it as Bearing Connecting Rod and supplies it in graded thicknesses, so the correct grade must be selected against the workshop manual and the crankshaft and rod markings for proper oil clearance. Owners and rebuilders reach for this bearing during a rod-knock repair or full engine rebuild, when a deep rhythmic knocking that rises with load, low oil pressure, metallic flakes in the oil, or spun-bearing damage points to a worn rod bearing. Each connecting rod uses an upper and a lower half; this is the lower half.
