  This genuine Ford release bearing is the clutch throw-out bearing and guide-tube assembly for 2011-2019 Ford Fiesta and Focus models fitted with the manual transaxle. Ford catalogs it as a Release Bearing, the hub, release bearing and clutch tube assembly. Mounted concentrically around the input-shaft snout, it is the component the clutch fork or hydraulic actuator pushes to disengage the clutch: when the pedal is pressed the bearing loads the pressure-plate diaphragm fingers, releasing the clamp on the disc so gears can be selected smoothly. Because it spins whenever the pedal is depressed and rides against the fingers, it is a wear item. A failing release bearing announces itself with a rising whir or growl that appears when the clutch pedal is pushed and quiets when released, chatter or roughness during engagement, a stiff or grabby pedal, or difficulty shifting.
