This genuine Ford accessory drive belt idler pulley guides and maintains tension on the serpentine belt of the 2011 through 2021 Ford Mustang GT equipped with the 5.0L Coyote V8, in the standard configuration without high output. Cataloged by Ford as an idler pulley, it is a smooth sealed-bearing pulley that redirects the belt around the front of the engine and keeps proper belt wrap on the driven accessories. As the sealed bearing wears it develops play and roughness, producing a bearing growl or rumble that changes with engine speed, a squeal or chirp, or a visible wobble of the pulley, and a seized pulley can throw or shred the belt and leave the engine without charging or coolant circulation. Replacing the pulley restores quiet, stable belt tracking and protects the belt from premature wear. This is the 5.0L GT application without high output, distinct from Shelby GT350 and GT500 hardware, so confirm your engine. Spin the tensioner and inspect the belt for glazing while the pulley is accessible.
