• Description:

  Genuine Ford air conditioning pressure transducer or HVAC pressure switch for the 11-23 Ford Edge, Fusion, and Explorer family of multi-vehicle applications using the common HG1Z service part. The transducer is a sensor that reports refrigerant system pressure to the HVAC controller so the compressor clutch is engaged only when system pressure is within the design range, and so the system shuts down protectively if pressure drops too low or climbs too high. When the transducer fails or drifts the symptoms include a compressor that will not engage even with the system fully charged, intermittent cycling, or warning indicators on the climate control panel. The Ford-supplied unit carries the correct calibration and electrical connector for the broad multi-platform application. Replacement involves locating the transducer port on the refrigerant line, unscrewing the failed sensor, and installing the new sensor with the appropriate sealing washer; the system typically does not require refrigerant recovery for this port.
