This is a genuine Motorcraft air conditioning system pressure switch, cataloged as a high-pressure cut-off / A/C clutch cycling switch, fitting a broad range of Ford vehicles including 2011-2023 F-150, 2013-2023 Escape, and F-250 Super Duty. The switch threads into the high-side of the refrigerant circuit and monitors system pressure, signaling the powertrain control module to engage or disengage the compressor clutch and to protect the system by cutting the clutch out when pressure climbs too high or drops too low. When it fails the air conditioning may stop blowing cold, the compressor clutch short-cycles rapidly on and off, the clutch fails to engage at all, or a diagnostic trouble code sets for A/C pressure. As a factory Motorcraft switch it matches the original threads, seal, and electrical connector for a direct fit, restoring correct compressor control and system protection. Confirm the connector and port location against your original switch, and have the refrigerant system properly recovered before opening the circuit if the port is not isolated by a valve.
