This genuine Ford Motorcraft accessory drive belt tensioner assembly (part BT-103) maintains correct tension on the serpentine accessory drive belt of the 5.0L V8 (Coyote) engine, using a spring-loaded arm and pulley to keep the belt tight so it can turn the alternator, water pump, power steering, and air conditioning compressor without slipping. It fits 2011-2023 Ford F-150 and 2011-2017 Ford Mustang GT equipped with the 5.0L engine. Drivers seeking this tensioner are often chasing a chirping, squealing, or rattling noise from the front of the engine, a visibly fluttering or shaking belt, a worn or seized pulley bearing, or belt edge fraying and glazing caused by a weak tensioner spring.
