  This genuine Ford Motorcraft manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor mounts on the intake manifold and measures manifold pressure, reporting it to the powertrain control module so it can calculate engine load and command the correct air-fuel ratio and spark timing. It is the original-equipment intake-manifold sensor for naturally aspirated 3.5L Ti-VCT applications built from 2011 through 2025, including the F-150, Expedition, Navigator, and Transit, and shares calibration with related Lincoln applications using the same 3.5L engine. A failing MAP sensor commonly sets a check engine light with manifold-pressure trouble codes and produces a rough idle, hesitation or surging under load, hard starting, reduced power, poor fuel economy, or a rich-running condition with black smoke. Because the module uses this signal to schedule fueling and, on some strategies, shift points, a drifting sensor can also cause a failed emissions test and uneven transmission behavior.
