• Description:

  This is the Genuine Ford right-bank timing chain guide used across a wide span of 11-25 Ford 3.5L EcoBoost and related V6 applications including F-150, Expedition, Navigator, Explorer, Transit, and Police Interceptor Utility. It is the fixed guide on the passenger side of the front timing case that locates the secondary chain along its run between the crank sprocket and the cam drive on that bank, working with the tensioner arm on the opposite side to keep tension and reduce harmonic motion. Construction is a glass-filled nylon wear face over a stamped steel back, sized for very small clearance to the chain side plates so that wear stays uniform across the guide length. A worn or cracked guide is a common contributor to chain noise, phaser correlation codes, and accelerated chain stretch on this engine family, and it should be replaced as part of any major timing job rather than reused. Service requires removal of the front cover with the engine partially supported, careful sequencing of chain, sprocket, and tensioner installation, and timing marks aligned per Ford service literature. Use new fasteners where specified and verify oil pressure on first start.
