• Description:

  This Genuine Ford extension housing seal fits 11-25 F-Super Duty trucks with the TorqShift automatic transmission family. It supersedes the earlier BC3Z-7052-C and is the current service part for the extension housing seal application across multiple model years of the 6R140 and 10R140 transmissions. The extension housing seal rides on the output yoke or slip yoke and retains transmission fluid inside the extension housing while allowing the output shaft to rotate freely under load. A failed seal allows transmission fluid to weep down the tail housing onto the crossmember and driveshaft area, can be mistaken for a rear main engine oil seal leak, and can drop fluid level enough to cause harsh shifts if ignored. The seal is a one-time-use sealing element; whenever the driveshaft is removed for any reason, the seal should be inspected and replaced if weeping is present. Use the correct seal installer tooling so the seal is driven square to factory depth, avoid scratching the seal lip on the splines during slip yoke installation, lightly lubricate the lip, and refill the transmission to the correct level.
