  This genuine Ford crankshaft pulley is the front engine pulley and harmonic balancer for the 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder used in the 2012-2014 Ford Edge, 2012-2013 Ford Explorer, and 2012-2015 Lincoln MKX. Ford lists it as a Pulley - Crankshaft, and it is the current part that supersedes the earlier discontinued versions of this pulley for the 2.0L EcoBoost engine. Pressed and bolted to the crankshaft snout, the pulley drives the accessory belt that turns the alternator, water pump, and air conditioning compressor, and its bonded rubber isolation ring acts as a harmonic balancer, absorbing the torsional vibration the crankshaft produces so the engine runs smoothly and the bearings and belt drive are protected. When the balancer's rubber ring degrades, the outer ring can shift or wobble, the belt grooves can wear, and the timing reference at the pulley can become erratic. Drivers then hear a knock, rumble, or belt squeal from the front of the engine, feel a vibration that worsens with engine speed, see belt misalignment or accessory-charging problems, or note timing-related running trouble. Because the pulley is central to belt drive and vibration control, a failed one should be renewed promptly. The crankshaft pulley retaining bolt is a torque-to-yield single-use fastener that stretches when tightened, so it must not be reused; install a new bolt and torque it to the correct specification in sequence.
