This is the genuine Ford upper radiator hose for the 2012-2018 Focus equipped with the 2.0L engine without turbocharger. The upper hose carries hot coolant from the engine thermostat outlet to the top of the radiator, forming the top leg of the cooling circuit that lets the radiator shed heat. The molded EPDM hose is pre-shaped to route cleanly between the engine and radiator and to seat squarely on both necks without kinking. Radiator hoses age from constant heat and pressure cycling, becoming hard, cracked, or spongy, and an upper hose that splits, blisters, or blows off can dump coolant quickly and overheat the engine, which is why owners replace it when they see seepage at the clamps, bulges, soft spots, or a coolant puddle.
