  This is the genuine Ford left-hand hood vent scoop for the 2013-2014 Mustang, the driver-side heat-extractor scoop that installs into the hood to vent under-hood air and complete the factory dual-vent hood design. Ford catalogs it as the hood scoop; it seats into the hood opening on the driver side and works with the passenger-side scoop as the matched pair fitted to the 2013 and 2014 Mustang, including GT and Boss 302 builds. The part is supplied primed and must be painted to match the vehicle body color before it goes on; it is not a finished piece as delivered, and mounting it in bare primer will let the surface degrade and look incomplete. Shoppers replace this scoop when the original has cracked, warped, faded, or was broken by road debris or a front collision, which leaves the hood looking unfinished or the vent rattling loose. Molded to the factory contour, it aligns with the hood aperture and the opposite scoop without uneven gaps and follows the hood crown once refinished.
