  This is the genuine Ford push-button start and stop switch that mounts in the dash of the 2013 to 2016 Ford Fusion equipped with keyless push-button start. Pressing the switch signals the vehicle to power the ignition and start the engine when the key fob is detected inside the cabin, and to shut the engine down when the vehicle is parked. The switch also provides the accessory and run power modes used to operate electronics without starting the engine. A driver who needs this part is often dealing with a button that no longer responds reliably, requires repeated presses to start, feels sticky or sunken, has a burned-out or dim backlight, or intermittently fails to wake the ignition system. Because the switch is the primary human interface for starting a keyless vehicle, a failing unit can leave the vehicle hard to start or unable to shut down cleanly.
