This is the genuine Ford under-body shield (engine compartment splash shield) for the 2013-2018 Escape on the Global C platform. Mounted beneath the front subframe, it forms the belly-pan cover that closes off the underside of the engine bay, deflecting road spray, water, slush, and debris away from the engine, accessory drive, and cooling components while smoothing underbody airflow to reduce drag and wind noise. Drivers usually replace it after it is torn loose or cracked from curb strikes, road debris, snow packing, or a missed retainer during an oil change, which leaves it dragging, rattling at speed, or hanging down entirely. Fitting the correct molded panel restores full lower-engine protection and eliminates the flapping and scraping caused by a damaged or missing shield. Supplied as an OEM molded thermoplastic under-tray designed to bolt back to the factory mounting points with the original push-pins and screws.
