• Description:

  This genuine Ford Motorcraft manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor measures the pressure inside the intake manifold and reports it to the powertrain control module, which uses the reading to calculate engine load and set the correct air-fuel ratio and spark timing. It is the original-equipment sensor for a range of Ford vehicles built from 2012 through 2023, including the Focus and Escape, and shares calibration with related Lincoln and Mercury applications using the same engine family. When this sensor fails it commonly triggers a check engine light with MAP or manifold-pressure trouble codes, and drivers often notice a rough idle, hesitation or surging under acceleration, hard starting, poor fuel economy, or black smoke from an overly rich mixture.
