• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford front stabilizer bar bushing for the passenger side of the Taurus and the Police Interceptor Sedan, catalogued as Stabilizer Bar Bushing and also listed as Bush or Bushings. The bushing is the rubber isolator that clamps the front sway bar to the subframe inside a steel bracket. It allows the bar to twist as the suspension articulates while preventing metal to metal contact, and it is what lets the bar transfer roll load from one wheel to the other so the car stays flat in corners. This right hand application covers the 3.5L, builds with painted calipers, and 2013-2019 3.5L turbo cars with the SHO performance package. Worn bushings are one of the most common sources of front end noise on this platform. As the rubber hardens, cracks and finally splits, the bar begins to knock and clunk against the bracket over expansion joints, driveways and speed bumps, and the noise often gets louder in cold weather and after the car has sat. Body roll increases, turn in feels vague and the steering picks up a slight wander. Ford notes these should be ordered by application because the bar diameter varies by suspension package, so confirm the build before ordering, and replace the left and right isolators at the same time so the bar is clamped evenly across its span.
