• Description:

  This Motorcraft positive crankcase ventilation valve manages engine blow-by by metering crankcase vapors from the valve cover back into the intake so they are reburned rather than vented, while maintaining the light crankcase vacuum that keeps oil seals and gaskets from being pushed out under pressure. The one-way calibrated valve modulates flow with manifold vacuum, flowing more at idle and light load and less under boost, which is critical on the turbocharged and naturally aspirated V6 engines it serves. It fits a wide span of Ford Explorer applications from the 2013 model year forward and Ford F-150 trucks from 2015 onward, covering both EcoBoost and Ti-VCT V6 power. A stuck or clogged valve is a common cause of rough or unstable idle, engine oil leaks at the seals and gaskets, a whistling or hissing intake noise, elevated oil consumption, sludge buildup, and an illuminated check engine light with lean or crankcase-related trouble codes. Replacing this inexpensive emissions component during routine maintenance restores proper crankcase pressure regulation and protects downstream seals.
