• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford turbocharger boost pressure sensor, also referred to as a manifold absolute pressure or MAP sensor, cataloged by Ford as Sensor Assy, base number 9F479. It measures the pressure of the air charge in the intake manifold and reports it to the powertrain control module, which uses the signal to manage boost, fuel delivery, and spark timing on this turbocharged EcoBoost engine. It fits 2014-2020 Ford Fusion with the 1.5L GTDI engine and 2017-2019 Ford Escape with the 1.5L EcoBoost engine, and it supersedes the earlier DS7Z-9F479-A. A failing sensor commonly sets boost-pressure trouble codes such as P0237 or P0238, and drivers may notice reduced power or a limp-mode condition, poor fuel economy, hesitation or surging under acceleration, hard starting, and an illuminated check engine light. Because the control module relies on an accurate pressure signal to hit its boost targets, a drifting or faulty sensor degrades both performance and efficiency.
