• Description:

  This genuine Ford cylinder head gasket seals the left hand (driver side) cylinder bank of the 5.0L and 5.2L V8, used on the 2015-2017 F-150 and Mustang, covering both the 5.0L Coyote and 5.2L applications. The multi-layer steel head gasket is installed between the cylinder head and the block deck, sealing combustion pressure in each cylinder while separating and directing the coolant and oil passages that cross between the head and block. When it fails, combustion gases, coolant, and oil breach their passages, which shows up as overheating, white smoke from the exhaust, coolant disappearing with no external leak, oil and coolant contamination, cooling system pressurization, rough running, and low compression on that bank. Buyers here are doing a head gasket job or an engine top-end rebuild. Cataloged by Ford as a cylinder head gasket for the left bank, FR3Z-6051-F supersedes FR3Z-6051-B and is the correct factory replacement. The torque-to-yield cylinder head bolts are single-use and must be replaced with new fasteners and never reused on installation.
