  This is the genuine Ford clip for the wheel opening molding, also called the wheel arch trim, on the 15-17 F-150. It retains the molding to the body so the trim stays flat, properly gapped, and secure against the fender, resisting lifting, rattling, and moisture intrusion behind the molding. Like other body trim retainers, these clips are routinely sacrificed when a molding is removed for paint or panel repair, they fatigue and crack with age and temperature cycling, and they release after impacts, leaving the trim loose. Fitting fresh clips rather than forcing the originals back in restores the designed retention and keeps the molding from working out of position. This genuine Ford clip reproduces the factory barb and locating geometry so it engages the body holes with the correct grip, unlike generic clips that can be loose or improperly shaped. The clip can serve the left or right wheel opening. During installation, confirm the body holes are clean and undamaged, align the molding, and press each clip home until it fully seats. Inspect the molding for damage before reassembly. Confirm the application against your specific aluminum-body F-150 before ordering, since wheel opening hardware can vary by trim and package.
