• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford heated exhaust gas oxygen (HEGO) sensor for the 2015-2017 Mustang GT with the 5.0L Coyote V8. It is the upstream, front sensor on the driver, left-hand bank, mounted ahead of the catalytic converter. The sensor measures the oxygen content of the exhaust and reports it to the powertrain control module, which uses the signal to trim the air-fuel mixture in closed-loop operation for correct fueling, smooth running, strong power, good fuel economy, and clean emissions. A worn, contaminated, or slow upstream sensor commonly sets a check-engine light with oxygen-sensor, fuel-trim, or catalyst codes and can cause rough idle, hesitation, poor fuel economy, or a failed emissions test.
