This is a genuine Motorcraft HVAC blower motor control module for Ford vehicles equipped with dual-zone automatic temperature control, including the Ford Escape, Ford C-Max, and Lincoln MKC built from the September 2014 change point through roughly 2019. On automatic-climate systems the blower motor control module takes a low-current speed command from the climate module and delivers a smoothly variable high-current output to the blower motor, giving stepless fan speed rather than the fixed steps of a simple resistor. When it fails the blower typically stops working entirely, runs at only one fixed speed, sticks on high even with the ignition off, or cuts out intermittently, and airflow no longer tracks the automatic setting. As a factory Motorcraft component it plugs into the original harness connector and mounts in the original location on the HVAC case, restoring full variable fan control. This module is specific to dual-zone automatic temperature control, so confirm your vehicle has that climate system and match the connector to your original before installing.
