• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford cylinder head gasket for the 3.2L five-cylinder Power Stroke Duratorq TDCi turbo-diesel engine used in the 2015-2019 Ford Transit. The head gasket seals the joint between the cylinder head and the engine block, containing combustion pressure in each cylinder while keeping engine coolant and oil in their separate passages and preventing them from leaking into the cylinders or to the outside of the engine. On this diesel the head gasket is a multi-layer steel design offered in thickness grades selected to match piston protrusion; this is the grade carrying a two-hole identification notch at about 1.15 mm, so the correct grade must be matched to the engine during a rebuild. Technicians install this gasket when performing a head gasket job prompted by classic failure symptoms: coolant loss with no visible external leak, white exhaust smoke or sweet-smelling steam, coolant and oil mixing into a milky residue, overheating, combustion gases pressurizing the cooling system, or lost compression between adjacent cylinders. Because it is the OEM gasket it matches the factory bore and coolant-passage layout and the specified clamping characteristics for a reliable long-term seal on a high-output diesel.
