• Description:

  This genuine Ford engine valve cover washer seal is the sealing grommet used at the valve cover fastener locations on the 2015 through 2019 Ford Transit powered by the 3.2L Duratorq five-cylinder diesel engine. Cataloged by Ford as an Engine Valve Cover Washer Seal and included with the valve cover service, it seals each valve cover bolt where it passes through the cover, keeping engine oil from weeping past the bolt holes and preventing oil and debris from entering the cam cover cavity. Technicians replace these seals whenever the valve cover is removed for cam, injector or glow plug service, or when oil is seen seeping around the top of the valve cover. Hardened, cracked or flattened seals are a common source of upper-engine oil leaks that leave residue on the cover and can drip onto hot components. Because it is a rubber sealing element it should always be renewed rather than reused once disturbed, ensuring a clean oil-tight seal on reassembly. This part supersedes the earlier BK3Z-815-A number and is the current genuine Ford service seal for the 3.2L diesel valve cover.
