This is the genuine Ford rear parking brake cable assembly for the driver side of the 2015-2020 F-150, catalog name Cable Assy - Parking Brake (Rear Cable). It connects the parking brake actuator to the driver-side rear brake mechanism, transmitting mechanical tension so the rear brakes hold the truck stationary when the parking brake is set. It fits the 145-inch wheelbase F-150 built without the Raptor package and without the electric park brake option, across 2.7L, 3.0L, 3.3L and 3.5L six-cylinder and 5.0L V8 configurations in rear-wheel and four-wheel drive. A stretched, frayed, corroded or seized cable is what a buyer is chasing when the parking brake pedal or lever goes to the floor without engaging, holds poorly on a grade, drags and overheats the rear brake, or refuses to release. The outer housing and inner wire are matched to the driver-side routing and length, so an exact-fit replacement restores correct free play and self-adjuster function. Route the new cable along the factory clips and frame guides, seat the end fittings fully, and adjust the parking brake to specification after installation. This is the left-hand piece; the passenger-side rear cable is a separate part number.
