This genuine Ford evaporator assembly is the complete air conditioning evaporator core and case unit for 2015 through 2020 Ford F-150 and 2017 through 2022 Ford F-250 F-350 F-450 F-550 Super Duty trucks. The evaporator core is the heat-exchanger inside the dash-mounted HVAC case where liquid refrigerant expands, absorbs heat from the cabin air blown across its fins, and cools and dehumidifies the air delivered to the vents; this part supplies that core already installed in its molded case housing. Drivers need this assembly when the air conditioning no longer cools properly, when a refrigerant leak has been traced to the evaporator, when there is a persistent musty odor or water leaking onto the floor from a fouled or cracked core, or when debris has damaged the fins. Because the evaporator lives deep in the dash, replacing the full core and case together saves the labor of separating a bare core and helps ensure a clean leak-free seal. The system must be evacuated and recharged with the correct refrigerant and oil charge during service, and it is good practice to replace the accumulator or drier and the related O-rings whenever the system is opened. This unit replaces the earlier FL3Z-19850-A, FL3Z-19850-C and HL3Z-19850-M service numbers and is built to Ford Motor Company specifications for correct fit and cooling performance.
