• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford front stabilizer bar bushing, cataloged as an Insulator Assembly, for the 2015-2021 Ford Edge equipped with the 2.0L gas, 2.0L EcoBoost, or 2.7L gas engine. The bushing is the molded rubber isolator that cradles the front stabilizer (sway) bar where it clamps to the subframe, letting the bar twist to control body roll in corners while damping the metal-to-frame contact that would otherwise transmit noise and vibration into the cabin. It fits either the driver or passenger clamp location. When these bushings dry out, crack, or wear oversized, drivers typically hear a knocking, clunking, or creaking noise from the front end over bumps, speed humps, and driveway transitions, and may notice looser, less planted handling as the bar develops play in its mounts. Because the rubber lives right behind the front wheels it is exposed to road salt, heat, and grit, so it is a common wear item on this generation. Fitting the genuine Ford insulator restores the correct durometer and inside diameter matched to the factory bar, which keeps the anti-roll rate and steering response as engineered. Replace the bushings on both sides together so the bar is supported evenly, coat the bar surface with the correct rubber-safe lubricant if specified, and torque the retaining bracket bolts to Ford specification. Inspect the stabilizer bar links and the bar itself while the brackets are open, since worn links produce a very similar noise.
