This Genuine Ford heater water hose, Ford catalog name Hose - Heater Water, carries engine coolant to and from the heater core on the 2015 through 2023 Ford Mustang S550 equipped with the 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged four cylinder engine. As part of the cabin heating and engine cooling circuit, it routes hot coolant so the heater core can warm the passenger compartment while helping regulate engine temperature. The molded hose is shaped to clear surrounding components and uses the factory routing and connection points for a correct fit on cars with the six speed manual, 6R80 automatic, or 10R80 ten speed automatic transmission. A failing heater hose shows up as coolant seepage or drips, a sweet coolant smell, low coolant level, weak or intermittent cabin heat, steam from under the hood, or engine overheating if the hose bursts. Rubber hoses harden, crack, swell, and chafe with age and repeated heat cycling, so replacement with the correct molded OEM hose restores proper sealing and routing. Refill and bleed the cooling system with the specified Ford coolant after installation.
