• Description:

  This driver-side exterior door handle is the dealer service unit for 15-23 Mustang, supplied in paint-to-match primed preparation. The handle is the outer pull that the driver grasps to open the door, mounting to the door skin with the latch linkage routed inside the door cavity. Because the part ships primed, paint must be applied to match the vehicle's exterior color before installation; the primer is not a finish coat and will fade and chalk if left exposed. Replacement is needed when the handle has cracked, when sun exposure has destroyed the paint beyond what refinishing can fix, or when the latch linkage inside the handle has worn enough to make the door difficult to open. Installation requires removal of the inner door trim panel to access the latch linkage and the mounting fasteners. Verify door opening operation before reinstalling the trim panel — a properly adjusted handle releases the latch cleanly without binding or excessive travel. This handle does not include the lock cylinder; transfer the cylinder from the original handle.
