Genuine Ford valve cover bolt for 15-24 Ford F-150 trucks with the 2.7L EcoBoost, 5.0L, or 3.5L EcoBoost engines, also fitting Explorer, Fusion, and Lincoln Continental, MKS, and Navigator applications that share the modular engine architecture. This unit supersedes EL3Z-00812-A and EL3Z-00812-B. The bolt is the threaded fastener that retains the valve cover to the cylinder head and torques against the cover gasket to create the head-cover seal. Bolts of this type get replaced whenever a valve cover gasket service is performed because the original bolt is often coated with a rubberized washer that does not seal a second time once it has been compressed against the cover. The Ford-supplied bolt carries the correct washer assembly and head profile to torque correctly against the valve cover without crushing the gasket or pulling through the metal of the cover. Sold individually so the correct amount for the engine can be assembled.
