  This is the genuine Ford right-side tailgate stop bumper for 15-25 F-150, covering 17-20 F-150 (5.5 or 8-foot box) and 21-25 F-150 (5.5 or 6.5-foot box) configurations. This service part supersedes the earlier FL3Z-99439A00-A reference. The bumper is the rubber stop that cushions the tailgate when it is closed, preventing metal-to-metal contact between the gate and the bed side, and absorbing slam force to extend the latch and hinge service life. A worn or missing bumper presents as visible scuffing on the inside of the gate, a louder than normal close sound, or a gate that does not sit flush against the bed sides. Replacement is straightforward: remove the worn bumper from its mounting hole on the bed side, clean any debris from the recess, and press the new bumper firmly into position until fully seated. Inspect the matching surface on the inside of the tailgate for any chipping or paint damage caused by the worn bumper, and touch up if needed. Pair with the LH counterpart ML3Z-99439A00-B for symmetric replacement when refreshing both sides at the same service interval.
