  This genuine Ford seat heating element fits 2016-2019 Ford Explorer models and is cataloged by Ford as a heating element assembly for the front seat. The element is a thin resistive heater mat bonded into the seat foam that warms the seating surface when the heated seat switch is turned on, drawing current through the seat heat module to raise the surface temperature for cold weather comfort. Owners replace the element when a heated seat stops warming on one seat while the switch and indicator still operate, when heating is weak or intermittent, or when the seat heats only in patches, all signs of a broken heater wire or an open circuit in the mat. Because the element is bonded into the cushion foam rather than being a serviceable plug in part, replacement requires removing the seat, peeling back the trim cover, and transferring the new element into position, which is best handled with the seat out of the vehicle.
