Genuine Ford antenna base, also called the radio aerial support, for 16-20 Ford Escape, Fusion, and Police Responder Hybrid models with the HD radio option. The base is the body-mounted radio antenna mount that the antenna mast threads into, and it carries the cable connection from the antenna down through the body to the head unit. The unit specifically fits the Fusion 17-19 without cell phone but with HD radio, the Escape with satellite radio, and the 13-16 Escape with HD radio. When the base fails the symptoms include reduced or no AM/FM reception, intermittent reception that changes when the antenna mast is touched, or water intrusion at the antenna mounting hole from a deteriorated body seal. The Ford-supplied unit is the correct service replacement and is matched to the original body opening, the OEM antenna mast thread, and the existing harness connector. Replacement is straightforward once the headliner is partially dropped to access the underside of the antenna mount.
