This is the Genuine Ford vapor canister purge solenoid valve for 17-20 F-150 and Expedition equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, and for 18-20 Lincoln Navigator. It is the EVAP-system valve that opens under PCM control to draw stored fuel vapor from the charcoal canister into the intake side of the engine. The solenoid mounts to the intake area of the 3.5L EcoBoost and uses the captive Ford connector for harness mating. This service number supersedes HL34-9B325-AB as the updated EVAP solenoid for these applications. Symptoms of a failed solenoid include EVAP monitor codes, intermittent rough idle when the valve is stuck open at idle, and slow purge counts on extended drive cycles. The OEM service part installs without modification, replacing the original at its engineered bracket location with the same harness connector. After installation, clear stored fault codes, run the EVAP monitor under the published Ford drive cycle to confirm readiness, and verify clean idle behavior at cold start so the engine confirms the new solenoid has restored normal vapor metering.
