This is the Genuine Ford automatic transmission fluid cooler for 17-20 F-150 with the 10R80 transmission. The cooler is the dedicated heat exchanger that takes fluid from the trans, runs it across an external core, and returns it to the gearbox so that line and sump temperatures stay within the calibrated window across tow loads, hot ambients, and stop-and-go traffic. Construction is a bar-plate or stacked-plate aluminum core with end tanks and quick-connect fittings sized to the original mounting bracket and routing on this generation of F-150. ATF temperature is one of the strongest single inputs to transmission life on the 10R80, and a cooler that has been pierced by debris, has internal coolant cross-contamination from the cooler-in-radiator side, or no longer flows freely is a serious concern that affects both shift quality and clutch durability. This Genuine Ford part is the OEM service replacement, ready to install with the original brackets and clips. Fill and check ATF level using the published thermal check procedure, and verify there is no underbody contact with the cooler core after installation.
