This is the genuine Ford radiator support air deflector insulator, a die-cut foam tape air seal, for 2017-2020 Fusion models built without the 2.7L engine, including the Police Responder Hybrid and SSV Plug-In Hybrid. It mounts along the upper radiator support to close the gap between the support and the hood or core, forcing incoming airflow through the radiator and condenser instead of spilling over or around them. That sealed path improves engine cooling and air-conditioning efficiency, especially at idle and low speed. Owners replace this piece when the original foam is crushed, torn, oil-soaked or falls off after front-end service, bumper work or a collision repair, since a missing seal can contribute to higher coolant temperatures or weaker A/C performance in stop-and-go driving.
