  Genuine Ford OEM left-hand hydraulic timing chain tensioner part number HL3Z-6L266-A, the driver-side hydraulic adjuster that maintains tension on the primary timing chain via engine oil pressure. This tensioner fits 17-22 Ford F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost, 18-22 Expedition with the 3.5L EcoBoost, and 18-22 Lincoln Navigator with the 3.5L EcoBoost. This is the actual hydraulic tensioner unit, separate from the tensioner arm against which it pushes. The tensioner is part of the Gen2 3.5L EcoBoost timing system wear set, where internal wear or bleed-down at engine shutdown can cause a characteristic cold-start timing rattle until oil pressure rebuilds tension. Ford technical service bulletins call for replacement of the full timing set including both tensioners, both arms, both guides, all chains, all phasers, and related torque-to-yield fasteners as a complete service. The tensioner ships with the factory pre-loaded internal pin that holds the body compressed for installation; this pin is removed only after the timing service is fully reassembled and the chain is in position.
