• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford diesel exhaust particulate sensor for 17-22 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. The sensor supersedes HC3Z-5L239-D and is part of the EGR valve and cooler particulate monitoring system. It detects particulate (soot) load and exhaust flow conditions in the diesel particulate filter (DPF) system and reports data to the engine control module to manage DPF regeneration cycles and emissions compliance. Common failure modes include sensor element contamination, electrical failure (open or shorted heater circuit), water intrusion through the connector, and damage from impact on the exhaust system. Symptoms include a check engine light with codes such as P244A or P244B, incorrect particulate readings, DPF regeneration cycles at incorrect intervals, reduced fuel economy, and limp-home power reduction in severe cases.
