• Description:

  This Genuine Ford Hitch Assembly Trailer Tow, also cataloged as the Trailer Hitch, fits 17-22 Ford F-250 SD and F-350 SD trucks without the Class III tow package. The hitch is the bolt-on receiver assembly at the rear of the frame that accepts the standard square-tube hitch ball mount and provides the rated towing capacity for the truck in its non-Class-III configuration. Replacement is common after the original receiver has been bent by overload or a backing impact, after corrosion has weakened the structure enough to compromise the rated capacity, or when the truck is being converted from a non-tow to a tow configuration in service. The receiver is the without-Class-III variant; trucks ordered from the factory with the Class III package use a different receiver and are not freely interchangeable. Install with the correct frame-side fasteners torqued to the values in the Ford procedure, verify the safety chain loops and the seven-pin connector mount are properly located, and confirm the receiver clears the rear bumper face on both sides before returning the truck to service.
