• Description:

  This genuine Ford stabilizer bar bushing insulates the stabilizer (sway) bar where it passes through its mounting brackets on F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks built with the heavy-duty suspension and wide-track front axle. The molded rubber bushing lets the bar twist under cornering and uneven road loads while damping metal-to-metal contact, keeping body roll controlled and the ride quiet. As the rubber ages it hardens, cracks, or wears oversize, which lets the bar shift in the bracket and produces clunks, rattles, or knocking over bumps and during turns, along with vaguer, looser handling. Ford supplies the bushing to the original durometer and bore size for this heavy-duty chassis, so it seats correctly in the factory bracket and restores proper bar location. Bushings on a given bar wear together, so inspect the mating bushing and the stabilizer bar links while the assembly is apart, and clean the bracket and bar seat before fitting the new insulator. Coat only as the service procedure directs and torque the bracket hardware to specification so the bushing is retained without being crushed.
