• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford differential carrier bearing for 17-22 F-350 Super Duty rear differentials, with a fitment range covering Ford applications back to 1984 in some axle configurations per Ford's parts catalog. The bearing supports the differential case (carrier) inside the axle housing, allowing the case to rotate while transmitting drive torque from the ring gear to the wheels through the differential gears. Common reasons for replacement include normal wear after high mileage, damage from contaminated gear oil, noise during a differential rebuild, and inspection during a rear axle service such as pinion seal or seal replacement. Symptoms of a worn carrier bearing include a humming or whining noise that changes with vehicle speed (not engine speed), play in the ring and pinion when checked through the inspection cover, and metal particles on the differential drain magnet.
