Genuine Ford adaptive cruise control distance sensor for 17-22 F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks equipped with the adaptive cruise option. The sensor mounts behind a chrome cover at the front of the truck and is the radar unit that measures distance and closing speed to traffic ahead so the cruise control can modulate throttle and brake to maintain the set following distance. When the sensor fails the symptoms include adaptive cruise dropping out at speed, a warning lamp indicating that the radar is obstructed even when nothing is in front of the truck, or no adaptive function at all even though the standard cruise still operates. The Ford-supplied unit is the correct part number for the chrome-finish variant and is matched to the truck's body control module for proper calibration after installation. Replacement requires a dealer-level scan tool to set the aiming angle and run the on-vehicle calibration once the sensor is bolted into the bracket and the connector is reattached.
