• Description:

  Genuine Ford exhaust gas oxygen sensor for 17-22 F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks. This sensor measures the oxygen concentration in the exhaust stream and feeds the signal to the engine control module for closed-loop fuel control. When the sensor fails or drifts the symptoms include reduced fuel economy, rough running under light load, a check engine light, and in some cases failure of the emissions readiness monitors during state inspection. The Ford-supplied unit carries the correct electrical connector pinout and the proper heater circuit specification so it warms to operating temperature on the same schedule as the original part. Replacement requires an oxygen sensor socket and is best done with the engine cold to minimize the chance of damaging the sensor or galling the threads in the exhaust boss. A thin film of anti-seize on the threads is recommended unless the new sensor arrives with anti-seize already applied. Sold as a single sensor.
