This Genuine Ford engine oil cooler gasket fits 17-22 F-Super Duty trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine and is the B-variant of the 6L621 base for this engine. The gasket seals the engine oil cooler to its mounting surface and isolates the oil passages from the coolant passages, preventing cross-contamination between the two circuits that share the cooler housing. A failed oil cooler gasket commonly allows engine coolant to enter the engine oil, producing milky oil on the dipstick, low coolant level with no external leak, or in severe cases bearing damage from coolant-contaminated oil. The gasket is a one-time-use sealing element; whenever the oil cooler is removed for any reason, including a coolant flush after a head gasket repair, a cooler replacement, or upper-end overhaul, the gasket should be replaced before reassembly. non-OEM gaskets commonly use inferior elastomers or incorrect compound formulation. Clean both mating surfaces thoroughly, install the gasket dry without supplementary sealant, and torque the oil cooler fasteners in the correct cross pattern to the published specification before refilling and pressure testing the cooling system.
