• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford engine support insulator for the right hand, passenger side front engine mount position on the E-350 and E-450 Super Duty cutaway and van chassis, covering the 6.2L gas V8 vans of the late twenty tens and the 7.3L gas V8 vans that followed. Ford catalogs the family as an Insulator Assembly Engine Support, also listed as a side mount, and the B suffix is the passenger side unit. The insulator is a bonded rubber and steel assembly that carries the weight of the engine on the frame bracket while damping the torsional and firing pulses of the V8 so they never reach the cab structure. Because commercial vans live under constant load, idle time and torque reversal, this mount takes far more abuse than a passenger car mount. Failure shows up as a heavy clunk or bang from under the front of the vehicle when shifting into drive or reverse, a jolt felt through the floor and steering column when accelerating from a stop, new vibration at idle that was never there before, and in advanced cases a visibly sagging or tilted engine with belt or accessory contact against surrounding components.
