This Genuine Ford Motorcraft PCV valve hose serves the positive crankcase ventilation system on 2017 through 2024 F-150 pickups powered by the second-generation 3.5L EcoBoost V6. It channels crankcase blow-by vapors from the valve cover and PCV valve into the intake so they are recirculated and burned, keeping crankcase pressure regulated and helping the engine meet emissions requirements. The molded hose and its integral quick-connect fittings are shaped to the EcoBoost intake plumbing; as they age they grow brittle and can crack, split, or pop loose at a connector, creating an unmetered air or vacuum leak. Typical symptoms include a rough or fluctuating idle, a hissing or whistling noise from the top of the engine, lean fuel-trim codes, oil residue near the fittings, and occasional stalling. This is the correct OEM replacement, Motorcraft KCV-294, which interchanges with the Ford engineering number HL3Z-6A664-A for this application. Fit the hose only to the matching 3.5L EcoBoost layout and press each quick-connect fully until it latches; inspect the valve-cover nipple and PCV grommet for cracks while access is open. Installing the genuine molded hose restores the sealed crankcase ventilation path and eliminates the vacuum leak and driveability complaints caused by a failed hose.
